Benson’s Blog

Hello Everybody,
I expect you have all been wondering why I haven't written my Diary for ages. Well it's all Nanny's fault. You can't get the staff. Anyway she has finally got round to it, so I can fill you in on what's been happening over the last few months.
I expect some of you know that I have been a poorly pony. I was lame for quite a long time and felt pretty sorry for myself.
Well, the Vet did some blood tests and found that I have something called Cushing's Disease. A lot of older ponies get it. The good news is that there are tablets to help us feel better. I was back to my old self within days of starting on my tablets. Nanny says " Naughty Old Self " which I think is very rude of her. The bad news is that I have to be on a diet for ever more.

Too much sugar could make me poorly again. That is why I have a notice about treats as all my favourite things (apples, carrots and Polos) all contain lots of sugar. I am still allowed cuddles though, so even though you can't feed me, I will love it if you come and make a fuss of me.

There have been a lot of comings and goings since my last diary. William got a new brother called Owen and they have both gone to live at their Mum and Dad's house, where I hear they have lots of grass all to themselves - Lucky Ponies!

Cracker lost his sister Dax, which we were all really sad about. Wizzy got a big brother Mason, but he has gone to stay at another yard because he was being a bit naughty. Huck has a huge friend, Robbie, visiting for a while. Archie and I have a pretty mare called Dolly living between our 2 stables and my friend Hetty has brought her pony Paddy onto the yard. Trilby also has a new neighbour, Angus, who belongs to Jay. He seems a happy chap and Trilby is teaching him all his bad habits.

I think there is going to be a Pony Day at half-term next month, so make sure you get booked on to it so you can come and see me, even if I'm not allowed treats.

All the Best, Bye for now
Love
Benson x.
